Our Story

KiteTucket was founded in 2012 and is the only kiteboarding school on Nantucket with IKO Certified instructors. We offer private and group kiteboarding lessons, kiteboarding camps and trips, kitesurfing lessons and camps and foiling lessons. 

We teach in beautiful Nantucket harbor with amazing flat water conditions and shallow water. More advanced riders can also take a kitesurfing lesson on the south shore in the waves, using directional surfboard. To maximize your progress, we now also offer private instructions in NYC with amazing views on Statue of Liberty and Manhattan.

Juraj Bencat

Juraj started kiteboarding on Nantucket in 2009 and quickly became self sufficient kiteboarder, enjoying strong winds and stormy weather, ideal for big jumps, megaloops and powered tricks. He also never misses a great day on the south shore when the waves and wind pick up and conditions become challeging for strapless kitesurfing.

Juraj has many years teaching experience as ski instructor and 5 years of teaching kiteboarding. He is IKO certified  Instructor Level 2.

Dariusz Garko

IKO Instructor Level 1

Dariusz Garko grew up in Poland and began his journey and passionate commitment to physical performance at 15 years old when he was selected for a semi-professional soccer team. The result was motivating and he continued to develop his work outs and proper eating disciplines as a lifestyle. Garko had big dreams and a great love of sport and the outdoors that he was determined to make his career. He earned his Masters degree in Sports and Recreation from Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego (The Academy of Physical Education) in Krakow, Poland Garko, considered a top fitness and strength expert in NYC, has been featured in Men's Health, Ceasar's Way and as a stunt training expert on the set of the movie "Salt" with Angelina Jolie as well as a number of Health and Fitness websites. Garko is an avid athlete himself with an addiction for board sports!

Xander Raith

Instructor

My name is Xander Raith.  I am 19 years old and live on Nantucket where I was born and raised.  During the winter months I am in the mountains snowboarding, filming and competing, but in the summer I return home to kiteboard and enjoy the amazing island. Kiteboarding is very unique, offering infinite possibilities, allowing riders to be as innovative as they would like. Coming from a snowboarding background, my favorite aspect of kiting is riding rails and building obstacles to kite upon.  I have been kiting for over six years and have traveled around the world to some insane kiting destinations. Truthfully, I can say that no other place offers such consistent conditions or unique riding locations as Nantucket.  I learned to kite on island and to this day it is still my favorite place to ride.  The beginner accessibility and safe learning conditions make Nantucket an unrivaled location to learn and progress your riding.  Kiting on Nantucket grants the rider never-ending creative possibilities.  Whether it be kiting the flat water of the harbor or epic wave riding conditions on the south shore, Nantucket is truly an unmatched kiting destination.
